Hb. Ephedrae Ma Huang 2.4-6g Releases the Exterior, disperses Cold, promotes urination and reduces edema.
 With Gui Zhi, for Wind-Cold excess conditions with fever and chills but no sweat and Wind-Cold-Damp Bi.
Ram. Cinnamomi Gui Zhi 2.4-6g Releases external Wind-Cold from the muscle layer. harmonizes the Ying and Wei, warms the channels and collaterals to relieve pain, disperses Cold, unblocks Yang and transforms the Qi and warms and facilitates the flow of Blood through the vessels.
With Bai Shao, for external Wind-Cold with disharmony between the Ying and Wei, with spontaneous sweating.
Rx. Angelicae Sinensis Dang Gui 4.5-9g Tonifies, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, disperses Cold and alleviates pain.
With Zhi Gan Cao, moderates spasms and relieves abdominal pain.
Wine-Washed Rx. Paeoniae Alba Xi Bai Shao 4.5-9g Alleviates pain, nourishes Blood, astringes Yin and adjusts the Ying and Wei.
With Dang Gui, nourishes Yin and Blood.
Rz. Atractylodis blended with Sm. Sesame Nigrum Cang Zhu Chao Ban with Hei Zhi Ma 3-9g Strongly dries Dampness, tonifies the Spleen, expels Wind-Dampness, clears Dampness from the Lower Jiao and releases the Exterior, Nourishes and fortifies Liver and Kidney Yin, nourishes Jing and Blood and extinguishes Wind.

Ginger-Fried Sm. Coicis Pao Yi Yi Ren 24-30g Promotes urination, leaches out Dampness, strengthens the Spleen, clears Heat, expels pus, expels Wind-Dampness and soothes numbness.
With Ma Huang, Gui Zhi and Cang Zhu, for Wind-Damp Bi.
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Preparata Zhi Gan Cao 2.4-6g Alleviates pain and moderates and harmonizes the properties of other herbs.
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 4.5-6g Releases the Exterior, induces perspiration, disperses Cold and reduces the toxicity of other herbs.
With Gui Zhi, strongly induces sweating for treatment of External Wind-Cold with chills, fever, body aches and anhidrosis.
With Ma Huang, strongly creates sweating to treat all externally contracted Wind-Cold disorders.
